Job Title: Project Officer – Somali Region_ Koloji Woreda

Reporting to: Project Manager; Somali Region
Main Purpose
The Project Officer will support the day-to-day implementation of field activities under the project, focusing on community mobilization, capacity building, service delivery, and monitoring. The PO will work closely with local structures, SHGs, CLAs, and government counterparts to ensure project activities are delivered effectively and inclusively.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Self-Help Groups (SHGs) & Community Structures
- Establishing and supporting self-help groups (SHGs) in the respective Woreda.
- Responsible for organizing or providing training for the SHGs on savings, loans, small business skills, child protection, effective parenting, human trafficking, modern slavery and dangers of life on the street and domestic work.
- Strengthen community-based child protection structures.
- Conduct awareness raising in the community about dangers of domestic work, trafficking, and child labour.
- Facilitate participatory video (PV) sessions to document community issues and promote dialogue.
- Organize interface meetings between community members and local authorities to address protection gaps.
- Working with CBOs, FBOs and other relevant bodies, contribute to identifying and reducing negative social norms that encourages human trafficking and modern slavery.
- Beneficiary Identification, Referrals & Support
- Recruiting project beneficiaries in collaboration with Project Managers and government stakeholders, partners and community members.
- Prepare referral map and service director at their respective weredas and make appropriate professional referrals for children and families who require additional support.
- Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Supporting the M&E team to collect data on a regular basis about the wellbeing of beneficiaries and changes in their lives as a result of the project.
- Assist in timely submission of quarterly, semi-annual and final reports for donors and government.
- Maintain proper documentation of the project documents and reports.
- Contribute to lessons-learned brief and end-of-project documentation
- Project Implementation & Operations
- Implement all project activities according to Hope for Justice work policies and procedures.
- Participates in site visits as necessary and facilitate logistical support for trips.
- Undertake any other duties, as appropriate to the post, as delegated by Project Manager.
- Prepare monthly operational plans and budget estimates for field activities.
- Coordination, Representation & Partnerships
- Work closely with government officials, community leaders and project partners to ensure the best outcomes are achieved.
- Represent the organization in different review meeting, workshop and network meetings at Woreda level and whenever delegated by the Project Manager.

- Supervision
- Provide supervisory roles to Community facilitators/volunteers.
- Support CFs’ capacity development through on-the-job coaching and refresher trainings.

Key Result Areas
- Lead community-level implementation, including SHG support, awareness activities, beneficiary identification, and referral coordination.
- Support MEAL functions through data collection, reporting, documentation, and contributing to learning.
- Coordinate with government and partners, supervise community facilitators, and ensure compliance with HFJ policies and standards.
