The Technical Program Manager will support IT’s Enterprise Applications portfolio, partnering with engineering, architecture, and business teams to advance IRC’s future state IT support model through system enhancement and integration projects, primarily within the ServiceNow platform.
Job Overview/Summary:
The Technical Program Manager will support the Enterprise Applications team in enabling IRC’s future state IT support model through the delivery of system enhancement and integration projects, primarily within the ServiceNow platform. This includes managing the design and delivery of ServiceNow enhancements and integrations with other enterprise systems, coordinating release schedules, and ensuring technical solutions are well-documented, tested, and supportable as the platform evolves to meet growing organizational needs.
In this role, the Program Manager will use Agile methodologies to manage program workstreams, including product backlog management, sprint planning, and task management, acting as scrum master by educating the team on scrum, facilitating scrum events, and removing obstacles faced by engineering and technical teams. They will work closely with solution architects, developers, and business system analysts to translate business requirements into technical specifications, manage cross-system dependencies, and maintain clear technical documentation for partners across the organization. The right candidate loves the intersection of technology, data, and operations, is highly organized and detail-oriented, comfortable managing technical complexity and ambiguity, and brings a high level of emotional intelligence and a positive outlook to cross-functional collaboration.
Job Requirements:
- Excellent project management skills, with a demonstrated track record of applying program management principles, practices, and techniques to technical projects with strong results orientation.
- Experience managing system enhancement and data integration projects
- Facilitate agile scrum duties including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
- Experience using project management software tools, such as Jira, Monday.com, and MS Azure DevOps, to effectively lead, manage, monitor, and control project activities.
- Lead cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams across all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, build, testing, and deployment.
- Working knowledge of system architecture and data flows sufficient to translate business requirements into technical specifications and communicate effectively with engineers and architects.
- Ability to develop positive partnerships with both the technology and business user communities. Self-motivated and a problem solver who can assess and develop strategies for achieving the needs of the user community.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills—ability to speak to technical-level staff and develop written reporting and presentational content with level-appropriate messaging up to and including the senior executive level.
- Independent and resourceful—able to identify unique solutions to address complex technical challenges with limited guidance.
- Excellent skills in productivity and diagramming software (Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and other tools) and experience crafting high-quality technical work products.
- Document and analyze technical and organizational needs across multiple departments and translate them into program actions and requirements.
- Manage cross-system dependencies, integration risks, and mitigation plans across concurrent enhancement and integration workstreams.
- Support vendor and third-party integration partners, ensuring delivery meets IRC’s data quality, security, and compliance standards.
- Continuously build and maintain clarity in program work plans, roadmaps, status, risks, and mitigation plans.
