Background
World Vision International (WVI) Somaliland, through the Regreening Africa Phase Two (RA2)
Project, is committed to supporting sustainable land restoration and improving the resilience
of pastoral and agropastoral communities in Odweine District Somaliland. The project focuses
on the rehabilitation and restoration of degraded lands through community-based natural
resource management approaches aimed at enhancing vegetation cover, soil health, and
ecosystem productivity.
As part of its commitment to environmental restoration and sustainable livelihoods, WVI
promotes the use and dissemination of pasture grass seeds to support rangeland regeneration
and improve forage availability for livestock. This intervention contributes to restoring
degraded grazing areas, increasing pasture productivity, and strengthening the adaptive
capacity of local communities to climate change and recurrent droughts.
Through collaboration with local authorities, community institutions, and relevant
stakeholders, the Regreening Africa Phase Two Project seeks to accelerate landscape
restoration efforts, improve natural resource management practices, and enhance the longterm sustainability of pastoral livelihoods in Odweine District
